Call to Bar:2024

Legal 500

5 Stone Buildings is the nicest and most approachable set of chambers. It has fantastic barristers at all levels and are always flexible and accommodating.

Alex joined 5 Stone Buildings as a tenant in October 2026, having completed pupillage in chambers under the supervision of Jordan Holland, Edward Hewitt, Joss Knight and Toby Bishop.

During pupillage, Alex assisted on a wide range of cases, including trust and probate proceedings, claims under the 1975 Act and ToLATA, proprietary estoppel claims, and Court of Protection proceedings. Alex welcomes instructions in all of chambers’ practice areas.

Before joining the Bar, Alex trained and practised for 6 years as a litigation solicitor at Macfarlanes LLP, working primarily on trust and estate proceedings (both on- and offshore) as well as commercial disputes. She also has experience advising on non-contentious tax and succession matters, having spent a year post-qualification in the firm’s private client team.

During the 2024-25 legal year, Alex served as a judicial assistant in the Court of Appeal, working principally for the then Chancellor, Sir Julian Flaux.
