Mathew Roper successfully appeared for the claimant/settlor in a claim to construe, alternatively rectify a settlement created as part of a “double trust” or “home loan” scheme so as to exclude section 31 of the Trustee Act 1925 and thereby avoid an immediate inheritance tax charge and future decennial charges on relevant property.
