Lord Walker of Gestingthorpe

Everyone at 5 Stone Buildings is very sorry to have learnt of the death of the former member of chambers Lord Walker of Gestingthorpe.

Robert Walker was called to the bar (Lincoln’s Inn) in 1960 and took silk in 1982. He became a High Court Judge in 1994, a Lord Justice of Appeal in 1997, and a Lord of Appeal in Ordinary in 2002.  On 1 October 2009 he was invested as one of the original members of the Supreme Court.

Quite apart from his stellar legal career, he was admired as a kind and trustworthy friend to many.  Our thoughts are with his wife, Suzanne, and his family.
