Alexander Drapkin succeeds David Rees KC as editor of Heywood & Massey

The latest release of Heywood & Massey: Court of Protection Practice marks a change of editorship, with Alexander Drapkin taking over as General Editor. Alexander is a barrister specialising in Court of Protection work across both property and affairs and health and welfare matters. He has appeared in many leading cases, including the Hinduja litigation in the Court of Protection and Court of Appeal, and is ranked by Chambers UK and Chambers High Net Worth for Court of Protection work in both property and affairs and health and welfare.

The book has been the leading text on mental capacity law and practice for over a century and continues to evolve alongside this fast-developing area of law. Under Alexander’s editorship, it will continue to provide clear, practical guidance for practitioners in both jurisdictions, while addressing current challenges such as increasing transparency, complex cross-border issues, and the growing interface between capacity and other areas of law.

David Rees KC, who has overseen the book as General Editor for the past 18 years and was instrumental in rewriting it for the Mental Capacity Act 2005, remains in  practice at 5 Stone Buildings. He will continue as Consultant Editor, ensuring continuity and supporting the editorial team with his extensive experience and expertise.
