A Career Involving the Court of Protection
On 5 March 2026, Ruth Hughes KC will be speaking at the Career Involving the Court of Protection workshop hosted by the University of Oxford Faculty of Law.
This interactive session will provide a candid insight into what a career in Court of Protection work truly involves. From complex mental capacity disputes and deputyship matters to the advocacy skills, judgement and empathy required to represent some of the most vulnerable individuals in society.
Ruth Hughes KC often acts for the person who lacks capacity through their litigation friend, the Official Solicitor. In addition, she has also represented 22 highly endangers Chinses tigers in a divorce and assisted the CPS to obtain the £75m final restraint orders on Baroness Mone which have been highly publicised.
